Girona are the surprise package of the season, and have shown stunning form this season in the race for the La Liga title.
Girona were top of the league after match week 13, and will return to the top if they beat Athletic Bilbao on Monday.
Girona coach Michel Sanchez has played mind games regarding their title push, but has tipped Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona to drop points in the race for the La Liga title.
“I have a feeling that we won’t challenge,” he said.
“We won’t stop fighting, but I think Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are going to drop a few points.
“We will only challenge if we are perfect every day, and I don’t know if that will be the case. I don’t think so, but to this day, we have shown enough to fight with them.
“We have a significant points difference to teams that are going to be challenging for Europe, but with others, the difference is not so much. We want to be fighting with Real Betis, Athletic Club, and Real Sociedad (for the top six).
“If after the second third of the competition, we are still inside the top six, we will give everything to ensure that we stay there.”
