Barcelona lost track in the ongoing title race, after a surprise home defeat to Girona.

Girona, who have been deemed as the surprise package of the season, beat Barca 4-2 on Barcelona’s home turf.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has now claimed that Girona were indeed the better side in that encounter.

“I can speak about Barca-Girona as a fan. It was a very entertaining match,” Carlo Ancelotti told the media.

“The two sides played without much tactics. Girona were better and had more success. And I must stop here.

“I cannot criticise or make speeches for other teams. I liked the match. Girona’s ability to be at this level with so much personality and character is surprising.”
