Real Madrid have been drawn to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16.
Real Madrid will play the first game away from home on 13th or 14th February 2024. The second leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on 5th or 6th March.
Leipzig are never an easy side to face.
Both teams faced each other last season in the group stage. The Los Blancos won at home 2-0 but were beaten 3-2 away in Germany.
Thibaut Courtois at the time bemoaned the team’s lack of intensity as the main reason why Madrid were defeated in Germany.
“We didn’t defend well in the first two goals because we lacked intensity. You can have a bad day, but you cannot lack intensity. You have to give 100% every second,” he said.
“It happens to us at times. We go out sleeping and without intensity, and we end up paying dearly. Ancelotti warned us and it still happened to us.”
