Real Madrid are currently without key centre-back duo Eder Militao and David Alaba, with both out on long-term injuries.

Reports claim Carlo Ancelotti has told the club to sign a new defender in January.

Reacting to the news, Ancelotti said:

“We have spoken with the club [about the need of signing a centre-back], we will evaluate it in the coming days.

“We have time to do it because the market ends on January 31 and we are going to look for the best possible solution. For now, we are in no hurry.

“This is not the time to announce the names. If there is a possibility of signing a player who is good for the club and for the season, we will do it.”
