Real Madrid have been dealt a huge transfer blow after Benfica confirmed they will not be selling a key transfer target to Real Madrid in January.
Real Madrid have been linked with 20-year-old defender Antonio Silva, who is reportedly valued at around €90million by Benfica.
But Benfica head coach Roger Schmidt has now said that the defender won’t be leaving the Portuguese giants in January amid interest from Real Madrid.
Schmidt told reporters on Thursday: “We are halfway through the season and we have big goals. We certainly won’t let any of these players leave. We need them and no one wants to leave, so there’s no question.”
