Real Madrid signed Joselu on a season-long loan from Espanyol over the summer.

Real Madrid paid €500K to sign Joselu on a season-long loan from Espanyol, after the departure of club legend Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid have kept the vacant striking spot for Kylian Mbappe, which explains why Joselu was signed on loan.

However, reports by Relevo claims that Real Madrid intend to keep Joselu in their squad next season.

The 33-year-old has impressed since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu, with 8 goals in 23 appearances, and his performances have been top notch as well.

Real Madrid believes he’ll be needed next season regardless of whether they sign a top striker, the report claims.

Joselu was groomed at Real Madrid Castilla back in 2009, and finds pride and joy in wearing the Real Madrid jersey even so late in his career.

Joselu’s attitude and commitment both in training and in matches have been one to emulate since he arrived at the club.

Real Madrid do have a good relationship with Espanyol, which will help the club sign the veteran finisher at a decent price next summer.
