Carlo Ancelotti has penned a new deal with Real Madrid until 2026.

The Italian was in the final year of his contract with the Los Blancos, and was linked with the Brazilian national team job.

Many expected that Carlo Ancelotti will take the Brazil job, as he had dreams of succeeding with the Selecao. But Real Madrid tabled an offer for Ancelotti, which the Italian gladly accepted.

Ancelotti has said about the Brazil job: “The reality is that everyone knows it.

“I have had contacts with Brazil, with Ednaldo Rodrigues. I want to thank him for his interest. But I was aware of Real Madrid. In recent months he is no longer the president of the Brazilian Federation.

“In the end the situation has been as I wanted, to stay here. It is a great illusion Brazil. I don’t know if they will love me in 2026…”
