Former Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil has hailed Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger.

Ozil has declared Rudiger the best defender in the world after watching Real Madrid beat Mallorca, with Rudiger scoring the only goal of the game.

Ozil further claims Chelsea collapsed after Rudiger departed Chelsea to join Real Madrid.

He posted on his social media: “You can ask (Erling) Haaland or (Victor) Osimhen how good Rüdiger is. He is simply the best defender in the world right now.

“Look what happened to Chelsea after he left, they miss his mentality every day.”
