Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has come under fire from Real Madrid fans, having given his support to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
Valverde who is captain of his national team, was required to vote for FIFA’s Best Player of 2023.
The Real Madrid midfielder opted to vote in this manner – Lionel Messi (1st), Kylian Mbappe (2nd), and Erling Haaland (3rd), as revealed by FIFA.
Real Madrid fans have come online to attack Valverde’s choices, for picking a Barcelona legend and ignoring Erling Haaland who won the treble and is also a Real Madrid future target, and Vinicius Jr who made the team of the year.
