Real Madrid want to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, and do not want any surprises this time.
The France superstar should have signed for the Los Blancos two years ago, but made a late turnaround to extend his PSG contract by two years.
Mbappe has so far rejected every approach by PSG to renew his current contract, which will expire at the end of the season. This caused the club to be at war with him at the start of the campaign and banished him from the squad, until they both later settled their differences.
Nevertheless, no concrete decision has been made about Mbappe’s immediate future.
Reports claim Mbappe still wants to leave PSG at the end of the season and join Real Madrid, but Real Madrid now want a written guarantee from the Frenchman that he will join them in the summer, L’Equipe claim.
According to the report, back in December, Real Madrid gave Mbappe a deadline of mid-January to decide his future or forget about joining the club. If his decision is ‘yes’ they want it on paper to avoid any late surprises.
Real Madrid believes Mbappe now holds all the cards about his future with his contract set to expire in six months, and he’s free to start talks with other clubs as well.
