Real Madrid have crashed out of the Copa del Rey, after suffering a 4-2 extra-time defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Both teams played out a 2-2 draw in normal time, but Real will go on to lose 4-2 in extra time.

Speaking after the game, Carlo Ancelotti said: “We cannot be happy with the result, but we can be happy with the effort we have made.

“When we equalised we lacked some control and we didn’t take enough risks.

“We played very well, we tried until the end. We fought. But we made mistakes.”
