Vinicius Jr was on fire as he scored a hat-trick to help Real Madrid beat Barcelona 4-1 in the Supercopa final, as the Los Blancos went on to win their first trophy of the year.

Vinicius Jr would then put a poor display in the following game against Atletico Madrid – in the Copa del Rey round of 16.

However, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he has nothing but praise for the Brazilian.

“The last time we spoke one on one [with Vinicius Junior] was on Tuesday, after the Super Cup in which he scored a hat-trick,” Carlo Ancelotti told the media.

“I thanked him for the hat-trick and I want to thank him for what he’s trying to do. I’m already telling him the things he needs to improve.”
