Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has warned Real Madrid and Girona that Barcelona won’t give up on winning the La Liga this season.

Reigning Spanish champions Barcelona are eight points behind shock leaders Girona and seven behind Real Madrid.

Xavi told reporters: “We face the second half of the season full of optimism. The situation is not easy, it is a tough one because there’s a big gap between us and Madrid or Girona.

“But we think coming back from it to win La Liga is a doable thing, and we’ll try it.”
