Brahim Diaz was delighted and hailed the Real Madrid fans after the 3-2 win over Almeria.

Real came from two goals down at half-time, to go on and win the tie, with Dani Carvajal scoring late in stoppage time.

Brahim Diaz hailed the team’s fighting spirit, and admitted he knew the win was going to come.

He said: “This is Real Madrid. I won’t get tired of saying it. We battled until the end and we’ve got that winning spirit. It was a crazy game. We didn’t play well in the first half, but we fixed it with a very complete second half.

“When I was on the pitch I knew we were going to turn it around. It was just a matter of time and we’re all going home delighted and knowing that this team will keep on going until the end. We have the quality to come back and the team’s hard work and winning spirit have paid off.

“We’ve got a very good team. Whoever comes on comes on with determination and hunger. It’s a team effort and those of us who came on in the second half did our bit.

“It’s the best stadium in the world, the best fans, the best club and the best team. The fans give us a boost. They always get behind us at all times and we’re really grateful for that. Hopefully we’ll carry on winning at home.”
