Almeria coach Gaizka Garitano was left frustrated after seeing his side lose 3-2 to Real Madrid on Sunday evening.
The coach was eventually given a red card for his constant protests against the referee’s decisions.
Almeria had a 2-0 lead but were beaten 3-2, after a series of VAR decisions went Real’s way, with Dani Carvajal scoring the winner for Real deep into injury time.
In a snappy interview, Garitano refused to say much, as he was keen to avoid further sanctions.
Refereeing: “Nothing to say.”
Dismissal: “It’s fair, I have protested a lot. I couldn’t do anything else.”
Haven’t they let them win?: “You’ve already seen it. I don’t give my opinion, because then they suspend us.”
The goals and the VAR: “We have seen what has happened, that is the best summary.”
Complaints and sanctions: “I don’t usually talk about referees. I don’t have words to say what has happened. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to me here.”
Staying up: “We haven’t won a game yet, but you see how the team competes. Today is a bitch for the kids.”
