Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his admiration for veteran midfielder Luka Modric.

We’ve seen youngster Arda Guler warm up during games, and end up not entering the pitch.

Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he can’t do that to Modric, due to respect he has for the Croatian.

Carlo Ancelotti told the media: “If a young player like him [Guler] warms up and doesn’t play, nothing happens.

“But 39-year-old Modric, a legend with five Champions League trophies behind… I can’t do it. He knows.”

Modric started the 2-0 victory over Getafe, and played the full game.
