Andriy Lunin has become Real Madrid’s first choice goalkeeper, since the absence of Thibaut Courtois to injury.

Kepa Arrizabalaga started out as the first-choice before getting injured, and has now lost his place to Lunin.

Asked how Lunin managed to overtake Kepa, Ancelotti said: “It all started when Kepa got injured. We saw Lunin in action.”

Kepa got injured back in November ahead of Real Madrid’s game against Braga in the Champions League.

Upon his return, Kepa has been mistake-prone, while Lunin has continued to perform well. The 24-year-old has conceded just 13 goals in 15 games while recording six clean sheets.
