It’s what I told Cristiano Ronaldo – Mbappe told he’d get more than money at Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe is set to sign up for Real Madrid at the end of the season.

According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Kylian Mbappe has signed a mega-money five-year deal with Real Madrid after confirming he will leave Paris Saint-Germain.

Kylian Mbappe will be out of contract at PSG at the end of the season, and the Frenchman has agreed to join Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer.

The report also adds that Mbappe will earn between £12million and £17million yearly at Real Madrid, making him the highest-paid player at the club but it is a decrease on the £22million he earns yearly at PSG.

Mbappe is also set to earn a huge £85.5million signing-on fee.

Meanwhile, former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon, has said Mbappe will get more than money at Real Madrid.

Calderon told BBC Sport: “Real Madrid offers these players not only money, because they can get that in other teams, but also glory, titles, collective and individual awards, the Ballon d’Or… That is important because the image of the players can be very important for the rest of the world.

“When they sign for Madrid, Madrid gives them a lot in return.

“It’s not just the money, I think the players deserve the money they earn because it is the money they generate for the clubs, but above all it attracts glory, titles. When they come here they know that their image and their reputation is going to grow all over the world.

“I know that Mbappé is a very well-known player, but when they come to Real Madrid their image grows much more than if they go to another club. It’s my opinion. It’s what I told Cristiano Ronaldo when I signed him in 2008.

“In the world there are very, very big clubs, but Madrid gives something special to the players. Now we have an incredible stadium.

“The fans support the club but they are also very, very demanding, that’s how we have built the legend.”
