Arda Guler has been struggling for game time since he signed up for Real Madrid.

Having had to battle injuries since pre-season, Guler is now fit again, but has barely had playing minutes.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti has explained his decision to leave Arda Guler on the bench during Real Madrid’s 1-0 win against Sevilla.

Guler was just about to enter the pitch, before Luka Modric’s stunning late goal.

Guler was then overlooked, as Ancelotti decided to introduce Dani Ceballos from the bench instead.

Ancelotti said after the game: “I had a thought before the goal and I changed my mind after the goal and I preferred to bring on a more defensive player such as Ceballos.

“I think he understands it very well and if he doesn’t, that’s fine.”
