PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe met with France president Emmanuel Macron and the Emir of Qatari at Elysee Palace on Tuesday after being invited to a state dinner.
According to RMC Sport, Macron shared a joke with Mbappe when he arrived.
“You’re going to create problems for us,” Macron is believed to have told Mbappe with a smile on his face.
Macron’s comment is believed to be in reference to the Mbappe’s expected summer transfer to Real Madrid from Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and the deal should have happened two years ago, but Macron had intervened, thus causing the France superstar to remain at PSG for another two years.
The president has admitted he advised Mbappe to snub Madrid and stay in the French capital.
Emmanuel Macron also said last summer he would try to ensure Kylian Mbappe stayed at PSG for longer, but even he now knows that may no longer be the case.
Mbappe is now expected to move to Real Madrid at the end of the season, on a five year contract.
