Barcelona have had to depend on their academy graduates in recent years.

However, for Real Madrid, the Los Blancos have been signing top-class players when needed.

Real spent a massive €103m to sign Jude Bellingham last summer, and have been rumoured to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

In a recent interview, Dani Carvajal was asked why Real Madrid don’t use as many academy players as Barcelona. For Dani Carvajal, both clubs are faced with different circumstances.

The Real Madrid right-back responded: “The great explanation is how each club is financially.

“When you are not in a good condition, you have no option but to rely on the academy.

“Jude [Bellingham] was available on the market as one of the best players in the world, and if you can, you have to sign him.”
