Real Madrid want this Liverpool star

Real Madrid have reportedly set its sights on signing Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is approaching the final 18 months of his contract, set to expire in 2025.

As of now, there have been no discussions regarding a contract renewal. This development comes as Liverpool focuses on appointing a new manager, having recently secured Richard Hughes for the sporting director role.

Seeking a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, who turned 32 last January, Madrid sees the timing as opportune for Alexander-Arnold’s acquisition.

Employing a tactic of encouraging players not to renew contracts has been a significant strategy for Madrid, notably in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe. They are also attempting to persuade Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich to join their ranks.

Madrid are yet to initiate contact with Trent Alexander-Arnold or Liverpool, but are eager to understand his future intentions.

Liverpool have not yet engaged in contract discussions with the homegrown talent but plan to negotiate a new agreement in the near future, mindful of the risks associated with letting a key player’s contract wind down.

Alexander-Arnold joins a list of prominent right-backs, including Chelsea’s Reece James and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who have been rumored as possible acquisitions for Madrid.
