Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, announced his retirement from international football back in 2021.
Now 34, Kroos has made a surprise return to the Germany national team.
Kroos marked his return during Germany’s friendly game against France.
The 34-year-old was arguably the best player on the pitch, and provided one assist, completed 121 out of 128 passes (including four long balls) and won almost all of his duels during the game.
Germany new head coach Julian Nagelsmann, has revealed his awe at what he saw from Kroos.
“Unbelievable, to be honest,” Julian Nagelsmann told the media when asked about Toni Kroos’ performance against France.
“With the ball, we all know that he is an extraordinary player. But also how he got involved in duels.
“He’s quite a normal guy and integrates into the group. That’s very good.”
Germany beat France 2-0 in the friendly game.
