Vinicius Jr just has to be the most hated player in the La Liga, and we wonder why.

Vinicius Jr has unfortunately become a frequent target of racism in La Liga since the past two seasons.

On Tuesday, March 26, Spain and Brazil will face off at Santiago Bernabeu in an international friendly. The game has a significant cause – combating racism in football.

Spain and Athletic Bilbao star Nico Willians has stood in solidarity with Vinicius Jr.

Nico Williams has said Vinicius Jr is targeted  because he’s too good, and because he’s black.

He said: “They [fans] only insult him because he’s good. He’s a great player. And also because he’s black. It’s very wrong and you have to cut those things out.

“I’ve been targeted too. And I insist that you have to go to football to enjoy yourself. Football is to be enjoyed, not used to insult.”
