Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has slammed the Spanish fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Santiago Bernabeu booed and whistled Alvaro Morata during the Spain vs Brazil friendly on Tuesday night.
Alvaro Morata currently plays for Atletico Madrid, but was a youngster at Real Madrid in the early years of his career.
Alvaro Morata has a difficult relationship with Real Madrid fans, and irked the wrath of Madrid fans when he said that he regrets his time at the club.
Luis de la Fuente has now slammed the fans who whistled Alvaro Morata, saying he feels ashamed for their act.
“Morata getting whistled at by the Bernabéu… it hurts me to the core that in my country, they boo a player of the national team, the captain who is a role model for us, an example,” the 51-year-old said after the game, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“It really hurts. When I hear those boos I feel ashamed.”
