Rodrygo was the man of the match, as Real Madrid defeated Athletic Club 2-0 on Sunday night.
Rodrygo had endured a 10-game goal drought, and seemed not to be at his best form of late.
However, with Vinicius Jr suspended for the Bilbao game, Carlo Ancelotti allowed Rodrygo to start on the left.
Rodrygo returned to his scoring best, as he bagged a brace in this game.
Carlo Ancelotti however believes that even though Rodrygo is better on the left, he has the quality to play everywhere across the front line.
“I think he’s good everywhere, even though people say he plays better on the left,” Ancelotti said after Real Madrid’s win against Athletic.
“Remember that he scored two goals playing on the right in a Champions League semi-final.
“He’s a great forward who doesn’t always hit the target, but that’s normal.
“Rodrygo had a great game and made the difference. He gave us an early lead and was involved in two moments of great quality. That’s what Rodrygo does and it’s what he has to do.”
Following his brace against Athletic Club, Rodrygo has now taken his season’s tally to 13 goals and eight assists in 41 games.
