Xavi was livid after Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League in the quarter-final.

Barcelona were between 6-4 on aggregate by PSG, but it’s a game Barca were leading 4-2 on aggregate before a red  card to Ronald Araujo turned the game around.

Barca go into the El Clasico on the back of the Champions League collapse to PSG.

Xavi has said his team will use the anger from that defeat against PSG to play Real Madrid.

Xavi said ahead of playing Real Madrid: “We weren’t good. We made mistakes, I made mistakes, too. We have to be self-critical. We’ll be back in the Champions League and we’ll be competing again.

“It’s the most important game (El Clasico). You have to win to put pressure on. If we win, we would be five points behind.

“I think about a positive scenario, about winning. My thinking is positive. We’re going to go out and win the game.

“We have to be able to change the tide. May this anger, frustration and impotence of the other day turn in our favour.

“We have a strong and morally-boosted Real Madrid in front of us after this week of the Champions League.”
