Real Madrid have been confirmed La Liga champions after Barcelona lost 4-2 to Girona away from home.

Barcelona were twice ahead against Girona, but ended up losing the game in dramatic circumstances.

Xavi was displeased with the outcome at full-time, and insisted that his side should have won the game.

Xavi believes Barcelona were better than Real Madrid and Girona, but ended up losing to both teams.

“This is not easy to digest, but we have to recover the team. We have to improve many things: compete better, especially when we have the game in our hands,” Xavi told the media after losing the Girona game 4-2.

“We’ve been superior in the four games against the two rivals [Girona and Real Madrid] that are above us [in the La Liga table].

“But it is not reflected in the result. Therefore, we have to improve a lot.”

Xavi and his numerous excuses have become a normal situation.
