Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has said Real Madrid may end up signing Virgil Van Dijk in the coming transfer window.

According to Souness, Liverpool captain Van Dijk is no longer happy at Anfield, and may seek an exit in the summer.

Van Dijk has one year left on his contract which will end in 2025.

“The fact that Virgil van Dijk’s contract end is coming up worries me, he’s 33 in July, and if his agent were to call up the sporting director at Real Madrid, they’d take him,” Souness said.

“I just look at him now and the noise he’s been making, which he hasn’t done throughout his career, and I think he’s obviously unhappy.”

I don’t think Real Madrid will go for a 33-year-old Van Dijk, even though he’s a top class defender.
