Girona came from behind twice to beat Barcelona 4-2 last weekend.

Girona boss, Michel, has revealed what he told Barcelona manager, Xavi after beating his team home and away.

“I told Xavi: ‘No matter what happens. You’re always gonna end up losing if they compare your Barca to Pep Guardiola’s. That team is unrepeatable’,” Girona coach Michel said in his interview.

The victory secured Champions League qualification for Girona who blasted the Champions League anthem from their stadium speakers at full time to the delight of their teeming fans.

Meanwhile, Xavi believes Barcelona were better than Real Madrid and Girona, but ended up losing to both teams.

“This is not easy to digest, but we have to recover the team. We have to improve many things: compete better, especially when we have the game in our hands,” Xavi told the media after losing the Girona game 4-2.

“We’ve been superior in the four games against the two rivals [Girona and Real Madrid] that are above us [in the La Liga table].

“But it is not reflected in the result. Therefore, we have to improve a lot.”
