However, Joselu who came on for Federico Valverde in the 81st minute, was the hero of the night for Real Madrid.
The 34-year-old scored two quick-fire goals in the 88th and 91st minute to win the game, and push Real Madrid to the final.
Speaking after the game, Joselu didn’t care about not being named man of the match, as he revealed that what happened was better than his dreams.
Speaking after the Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich game, Joselu said: “This is better than my dreams. Nights like this, you can’t even dream about.”
“Not getting the MOTM award? I don’t care.”
