Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel was very angry with the officiating after Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bayern Munich had taken the lead via Alphonso Davies in the 68th minute. Joselu levelled the scores for Real Madrid in the 89th minute, and would score the winner three minutes later.

A moment of controversy happened in stoppage time as Bayern Munich were denied a stoppage-time leveller after the offside flag was raised and the whistle blown before Matthijs de Ligt found the net.

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has said the linesman apologised after the game.

Tuchel told TNT Sports: “The linesman said sorry, but that does not help. At that kind of level, to raise the flag in a decision like this, a close decision, in the last minute and the referee as well.

“The referee does not have to whistle. He sees that we win the second ball, he sees that we get a shot away and to whistle is a very, very bad decision.

“And it is against the rules and it is a bad decision from both of them. It is a disaster. Tough to swallow, but that is the way it is.”
