Top Real Madrid star may miss Champions League final

Real Madrid have booked a Champions League final date with Borussia Dortmund at the Wembley Stadium on June 1.

Real Madrid could be without Aurelien Tchouameni for this game.

Tchouameni has been a key player for Real Madrid this season, starting often in midfield, and deploying as a centre-back when needed.

Aurelien Tchouameni picked up an injury against Bayern in the Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday.

Real Madrid provided an update on the Frenchman: “After the tests carried out today, he has been diagnosed with a stress injury to his left foot. Pending evaluation.”

The club’s report did not say anything about the midfielder’s expected recovery date, however there are concerns he may not be fit for the final in due time.

The Athletic, Cope and El Chiringuito all report that the Frenchman is a doubt for the Champions League final.

L’Equipe add that Tchoaumeni has been playing through pain for the past few weeks, and had to be subbed off against Bayern Munich, as he couldn’t take it any longer.
