At a ceremony held at Real Madrid City, the madridistas were awarded the trophy for their 36th league title.

The team’s captain, Nacho Fernández, received the trophy from Pedro Rocha, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

After being presented with the trophy, Nacho was interviewed on Realmadrid TV and he said: “Winning a cup with this club is special and the league title is even more so.

“This is the prize for all the work we have put in over the year. We had a spectacular league season and now we bring it home. Today is going to be wonderful.

“I would like to mention all the work of the players, the staff and everyone who helps us. Winning the league is very hard and it’s a goal we set ourselves at the beginning of the season. When you achieve it, it’s a proud moment.

“You have to live in the moment because you never know when you can win another one.”
