Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he is delighted with the depth of his squad.
The quality of the Real Madrid team doesn’t just lie in the starting XI, but a strong 22-man squad that do well when called up even if they aren’t in the starting team.
Ancelotti has highlighted the performances of Dani Ceballos and youngster Arda Guler, as two players who can do more if given the opportunity. He also named the trio of Fran Garcia, Joselu and Brahim Diaz.
He said: “The one I knew the least was Fran García, who has done well. Joselu and Brahim have also done very well.
“There are players who could contribute more if I gave them more minutes. Ceballos has not had the minutes he deserved for several reasons. Arda Güler could also have played more if it weren’t for injuries.
“The squad has surprised me on a general level.”
On the young players away on loan, Ancelotti added: “It is important to have a Real Madrid level. Rafa Marín, Blanco, Miguel Gutiérrez… It is very important to be able to return.”
