Just a few days to the Champions League final, Rodrygo caused a stir about his Real Madrid future.

With Kylian Mbappe set to join the Real Madrid attack next season, Rodrygo was misconstrued when he spoke about his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking in an interview with DAZN, Rodrygo was asked if he plans to stay at Real Madrid forever.

“Yes. Well… anything can happen. I have a contract here, but I don’t know,” Rodrygo was quoted as saying.

“The years I’ve been here have been a pleasure for me. I’ve always said I want to be at this club, but let’s see.”

Rodrygo’s words caused a stir at the club with many taking it as a signal that Rodrygo wants to leave.

Rodrygo has now denied the rumours, and even reposted reports by some journalists who said that Rodrygo had no intention of leaving.

On Tuesday, Rodrygo had to clarify in another interview.

“Some of my words were taken out of context. I’m very happy at Real Madrid, it’s a dream to be here, I’m not planning to leave at all,” Rodrygo said.

“Now, let’s focus on the 15th UCL.”
