Spain are set to face hosts Germany, in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals.

Two Real Madrid stars Joselu and Toni Kroos are set to face each other, barely a month after winning the Champions League together.

Joselu has been in a bullish mood ahead of the Spain vs Germany clash, and is hoping to retire his Real Madrid teammate, Toni Kroos quicker than he’d like.

Toni Kroos has announced his retirement from the game, and the Euros is expected to be his last competition as a player.

Joselu said: “Let’s hope it’s his last game. It’s a game that’s not special just because he was here. It’s a quarter-final against a great team. Let’s hope we can retire Toni [Kroos] on Friday.

“He’s been a friend. I’ve spoken to him a lot and he’s given me a lot of advice. He’s fundamental for Germany and he’s been fundamental for Real Madrid. We have to be careful with him on Friday.”

Kroos has replied Joselu, telling him that the Spain game won’t be his last.

He responded: “He said it because he wants to win. I understand that. It’s funny what he said.

“I don’t think Friday will be my last game. The possibility of it being my last game doesn’t weigh on me. I will give my best until the end, when that is. I feel happy and excited.”
