Ancelotti hailed one player after Real Madrid’s defeat to AC Milan

Real Madrid were beaten 1-0 by AC Milan in their first pre-season game of the summer.

Despite the defeat, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hailed youngster Joan Martinez who had a good game.

Joan Martinez joined the game after half-time, and played the entire second-half, and he received large praises from Carlo Ancelotti.

“He [Joan Martinez] has potential, everything a centre-back needs. He is good with the ball, very attentive…” Carlo Ancelotti told the media after Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss to Milan in a friendly.

“He has many things to improve, but he could have a future at Real Madrid. The youth team have done a great job with him because he is very good.”

16-year-old Joan Martinez is widely considered to be Real Madrid’s brightest talent from the academy.

The youngster is scheduled to be part of Raul’s Real Madrid Castilla next season. Ancelotti could also promote him to the first team if he has crisis among his the centre-backs.
