Real Madrid forward reveals plans to battle Mbappe

Brahim Diaz impressed last season for Real Madrid, after returning on loan from AC Milan.

Brahim Diaz is looking to further prove himself this new season, and produced an excellent performance against Chelsea in Real Madrid’s pre-season clash.

Diaz scored Real Madrid’s opening goal in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the friendly held in Charlotte, United States.

Last season, Brahim Diaz had to compete with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Joselu for a spot in attack.

This season, Brahim Diaz will have to compete with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, as well as newcomers Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.

Reacting to his new competition, Brahim Diaz said: “More competition with Endrick and Mbappe? This is Real Madrid. The best club in the world, the best play here.

“We are a team, there is no rivalry, we want to win together. It doesn’t matter if you play 90, 60, 30 or 20 minutes, the important thing is to help the team. We are a family.”

The 25-year-old featured in 31 La Liga appearances last season, mostly off the bench, netting eight goals and providing six assists.
