Real Madrid have started the season on a high, as the Los Blancos defeated Atalanta 2-0 to win the UEFA Super Cup.

It was an interesting Super Cup final clash, with Atalanta keeping out Real Madrid’s star-studded attack at bay in the first-half.

However, Real Madrid took it up a gear in the second-half, with some very direct play.

Shortly after the restart, Thibaut Courtois made a fingertip save to deny Mario Pasalic’s header. This save was very crucial to the victory, as Vinicius Jr created space with a fine piece of skill just before the hour mark, to square a fine pass to Federico Valverde who tapped the ball into an empty net.

Nine minutes later, Jude Bellingham laid a fine pass to Kylian Mbappe who sealed the victory with a fine finish.

Real Madrid won the tie 2-0 to start the season on a high.
