Real Madrid started the season with a 1-1 draw with Mallorca.

Real scored the opener via Rodrygo in the first half, but the hosts pulled one back early in the second-half.

Carlo Ancelotti deployed a 4-3-3 system against Mallorca, with a front three of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.

Ancelotti has now revealed that this system lacked balance and is a problem for his team.

“We lacked balance,” Ancelotti said.

“It’s something you find when players think about the same thing. When we have to recover the ball we all have to think about it together.

“It is a problem for the forwards and the defence. It is a problem for a team when the match has not been understood that this was a very important aspect.

“Mallorca played a very good game defensively, better than us. I think the draw is correct.”
