Mallorca defender Pablo Maffeo has admitted he was terrified when he saw Vinicius Jr and his teammates attacking his team.
The front three of Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo started against Mallorca, with Jude Bellingham just behind them.
Maffeo said: “When I saw them running towards me, I just prayed to God and asked myself: What am I doing here?
“It was nice because, in the end, everyone wants to play these games against these players. Today I can’t even move.”
The Argentine defender also revealed that everything against Vinicius was settled on the pitch, after the pair clashed.
“I told him that it was stupid that we were arguing all day because it doesn’t favour the image of any of the players. Two. He told me everything was fine. I have no problem with him, nor he with me,” Maffeo said.
Maffeo also backed Vinicius Jr to win the Ballon d’Or this year following his fine performances last season.
“They can give him the Ballon d’Or. If they give it to him it is for a reason,” Maffeo said.
“The truth is that he has done and is doing things very well and if they give it to him it is because I think he was very good last year. When I play against him I have to be more focused because for me he is the best player in the world in his position.”
