Carlo Ancelotti has made a strange decision regarding Real Madrid’s penalty takers.
It’s normal for every team to have a designated penalty taker, but Carlo Ancelotti has decided against going that path.
Real Madrid have so far had one penalty kick this season – away against Las Palmas, which was taken and converted by Vinicius Jr.
Ancelotti has now revealed that Mbappe and Vinicius will both decide within themselves who will take the kicks.
“Players themselves decide who takes it [a penalty kick],” Carlo Ancelotti told the media.
“I think it’s correct to give the responsibility to both of them [Vinicius Jr and Mbappe]. They have the same quality to take penalties and I don’t want to affect the decision. I have complete confidence in both of them, so there is no problem.”
Mbappe was the regular penalty taker at PSG, but that will not be the case at Real Madrid.
