Kylian Mbappe reportedly picked up a muscle injury during Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Alaves.
Mbappe picked up his injury during the game against Alaves after receiving some hard kicks from their defenders.
Midway through the second half, Mbappe pleaded to be substituted with a gesture towards Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff.
Mbappe complained of muscle discomfort, leading to his substitution, as Arda Guler replaced him with ten minutes left.
Real Madrid have confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will undergo medical tests in the coming hours to assess the severity of the injury and ensure there’s no lasting damage.
In his post-match press conference, Carlo Ancelotti however downplayed the issue, stating that Mbappe was just fatigued and requested to be substituted to avoid further problems.
Meanwhile, some reports are claiming that Mbappe could be out for up to three weeks, and will miss the derby game against Atletico Madrid.
