Real Madrid produced a thrilling game against Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the magic of the Bernabeu came to the fore yet again.
In what was a very difficult first-half, Real Madrid found themselves 2-0 behind at half-time. The Los Blancos conceded two quick-fire goals in the 30th and 34th minute from sloppy defending.
However, the second-half was a different ball game, as Real Madrid came from two goals down to win the tie 5-2.
Antonio Rudiger scored a header in the 60th minute to start the comeback. Vinicius Jr scored the leveller two minutes after Rudiger’s goal.
Lucas Vazquez made it 3-2 in the 83rd minute to set the rooftop at the Bernabéu on fire. Vinicius Jr would still score two more goals to complete his hat-trick and give Real Madrid a stunning 5-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking after the game, Vinicius Jr revealed the words from Carlo Ancelotti that sparked the comeback.
Ancelotti had assured his players that just one goal of their own was needed, to spark another famous Remontada.
“In the locker room at half-time, the coach told us if we score one goal, we will make a comeback,” Vinicius explained.
