Vinicius Jr produced a top-class performance as Real Madrid came from 2-0 down to beat Borussia Dortmund 5-2.

A second-half hat-trick from Vinicius Jr helped the Los Blancos pull an extraordinary comeback.

For Jamie Carragher, he has declared that this year’s Ballon d’Or award should go to Vinicius Jr after an incredible Champions League hat-trick against Dortmund.

“Ballon d’Or? Enjoy your Ballon d’Or, Vini,” said Carragher, before explaining why he thinks Vinicius will win ahead of Man City’s Rodri.

“They won the Champions League, which is the biggest thing in club football. I mean it’s difficult for Rodri because of the position he plays.

“Very few players win it in that position, whether you’re a defender or a holding midfield player.”

Carragher also added: “Vinicius Jr is the best player in the world.”

Luka Modric has also backed Vinicius Jr for the Ballon d’Or award.

“Vinicius deserves the Ballon d’Or. When you see how he played last season, this season, and especially tonight, he was outstanding,” Modric said after Real Madrid’s win over Dortmund.
