Real Madrid visit Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night, for another Champions League group stage clash.
Real Madrid have a number of top players missing in the squad for this game, including Vinicius Jr.
Vinicius Jr will miss Real Madrid’s upcoming Champions League match against Liverpool due to a hamstring injury.
The forward will be out for around three weeks after tests confirmed a hamstring issue in his left leg.
Alongside Vinicius, Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal, and David Alaba are all unavailable for the trip to Anfield.
Carlo Ancelotti has spoken about the injury to Vinicius Jr.
“I think he [Vinicius] got injured at the end of the game. The important thing now is his recovery and see who will replace him,” Carlo Ancelotti said in his press conference for the Liverpool game.
“Injuries are not a Real Madrid problem. They’re a football problem. Players are getting injured everywhere.”
Explaining why he didn’t rest Vinicius for the Leganes game considering how many minutes he played during the international break, Ancelotti rejected the criticisms against his decision.
“Those who have returned from the national teams have looked good. Vinicius, like Valverde, has been in good shape, this period,” Ancelotti said.
“Then sometimes it happens that a player gets injured. Because? We already know that. Because there are a lot of games.
“I read that I had to rotate Vinicius, well, I’ve coached more than 3000 games and had more than 4000 subs, so I think no one can tell me how I should manage the players.”
