Real Madrid did well to beat Leganes 3-0 away from home.

It was a solid Madrid display despite the absence of several key players.

Speaking after the game, Carlo Ancelotti singled out four players for special praise.

He said of Academy youngster Raul Asencio who was making his first start for the senior team: “Raúl Asencio was very good today. I liked him a lot. He played a very serious, mature game.”

Ancelotti also praised Dani Ceballos who had a rare start: “Ceballos contributed a lot, and Arda contributed a lot with his creativity in the final third, and he was close to scoring goals, but he played a complete match. They are players we can trust at this moment.”

Carlo Ancelotti was very particular on his praise for Federico Valverde.

He said: “Valverde can play several positions on the pitch and he is great in all. His shots have incredible speed. The problem is that he can play like this in many places on the pitch and my problem is to choose the best position for him for the team.”

Ancelotti also hailed Arda Guler who was making his first start in two months for Real Madrid.

“Arda helped us a lot with his creativity, he was close to scoring too, and he contributed a lot for us,” Ancelotti said.
