Liverpool have started the season strongly under new manager Arne Slot.

Despite Liverpool’s fine form, Arne Slot is wary of Real Madrid, and has hailed Real Madrid’s mentality ahead of their Champions League clash on Wednesday night.

“Real Madrid have more ‘aura’ than the others? They might do. I can’t talk for all the other teams I’ve faced,” Slot said.

“I’ve said at former clubs all the time that we should follow the example of Madrid as they always find a way to win.”

“We can take examples from Real Madrid, they find different ways to win. Even if we could be fortunate enough to be 1 or 2 goals up, but I think we all feel it with Real Madrid a bit more than other clubs we face [that they can comeback].”

Real Madrid have faced Liverpool 8 times in recent times, and the last time both sides met at Anfield, Real Madrid came from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool 5-2.

Slot has reacted to that game.

“I didn’t know we played Real Madrid so many times. I think I used that game ( 5-2) as an example for my team at Feyenoord because Real Madrid always find a way,” Slot said.

“That’s what makes them special. That’s what makes them the best club in the last 5-10 years.”
