Real Madrid lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the Champions League, as the Los Blancos continue to struggle in this season’s Champions League.

Both sides played out a goalless affair in the first-half, but the game took a different turn in the second-half.

Alexis Mac Allister scored shortly after the restart to put the Reds in front. Real Madrid had an opportunity to level the scores from the penalty spot, but Kylian Mbappe missed it.

Cody Gakpo scored in the 76th minute to extend Liverpool’s lead, and put the nail on the coffin.

Carlo Ancelotti believes his team did well in the first half and shouldn’t have lost the game.

He said: “We did fine in the first half. We defended well as a unit. The transitions were good.

“But we made the wrong decisions with the final ball. If we could’ve levelled it with a penalty, we competed well. We will improve.”
